Clever Cloud hosts Option Zéro

Option Zéro is a public health mobile application dedicated to helping people reduce or stop their alcohol consumption. To guarantee the security of health data, it was essential to host it on a HDS-certified cloud.

Supported by the CaPASSCité association, in collaboration with addictologist Dr. Géraldine Talbot, Option Zéro has been developed by Selego. Also supported by the Fonds de lutte contre les addictions, the application offers personalized follow-up and genuine support in managing addictions.

A cloud for high-impact projects

Sovereign, complete, simple: the obvious choice

I don’t know of any other solution that provides the same level of service while being entirely French, guaranteeing sovereignty and data protection.

Of the various hosting solutions I’ve tested, Clever Cloud provides a comprehensive tool for managing your entire infrastructure, with ease of use, rapid configuration and deployment, and advanced tools available at the click of a button.

Clever Cloud enables us to reduce the time needed to configure and deploy infrastructure by 90%, while implementing continuous integration and deployment pipelines, and partitioning into different test environments.

Option Zéro processes sensitive health-related data. For Selego, user confidentiality is an absolute priority. The team therefore wanted to comply with the highest standards attested by the Health Data Hosting certification, covering the six activities set out in the standard.

Why Clever Cloud?

Several criteria guided their choice:

  • HDS compliance: Health Data Hosting certification was essential to guarantee the security and compliance of the hosting.
  • Sovereignty: the infrastructure had to be hosted in France.
  • Simplicity and automation: need for a modern PaaS solution, with managed resources and rapid learning curve.
  • Customer support: available and responsive.
  • Time savings: a platform that lets you quickly host your application in a secure environment, without having to configure everything yourself. Updates can be deployed easily, and the management of different environments is uncomplicated.

Another key point was the ability to easily control scalability via the console. When it went live, Option Zéro quickly reached several hundred daily active users, without encountering any performance problems – with a single instance of 4 CPUs and 4 GiB of RAM.

Support to match

“We appreciated the quality of the support offered by Clever Cloud, enabling us to benefit from a competitive offering, a sovereign cloud, and easy to get to grips with. They’re a reliable partner, who understands the regulatory constraints and technical challenges of a project like ours.”

An obvious choice

For Selego, Clever Cloud was an obvious choice when compared with other solutions:

“We considered a number of different providers, but none of them offered the same level of service as Clever Cloud. With its self-service solution, Clever Cloud limits the costs associated with infrastructure administration, while offering fully managed machines that are already ready to deploy.”

What makes Clever Cloud unique

Most cloud platforms ask you to pick a lane. Serverless with hard limits on memory, execution time, and payload size. Containers locked to a single hyperscaler with databases resold from third parties. Or raw infrastructure where you manage everything yourself.

In August 2023, HashiCorp changed Terraform’s license. A few weeks later, OpenTofu was born under the Linux Foundation. Here’s what it means — and how to use it with the Clever Cloud provider.
