Clever Cloud achieves HDS Certification, enabling it to host health data in France. Clever Cloud, Europe's leading provider of Platform as a Service cloud solutions, today announced that it has been awarded the Hébergeur de Données de Santé (HDS) certification, in its updated version effective May 16, 2024, for all 6 activities in the standard. This certification reinforces Clever Cloud's position as a trusted partner for companies and organizations in the healthcare sector.

HDS certification therefore attests to Clever Cloud’s ability to host and process personal health data securely and in compliance with current regulations, as a certified service provider. This certification is in line with the company’s ongoing efforts in terms of security and quality. It follows on from the ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 27001:2022 certifications.

HDS certification obtained for all 6 activities

A comprehensive offering to meet the needs of healthcare professionals :

  1. Provision and maintenance of physical hosting sites;
  2. Provision and maintenance in operational condition of the information system’s hardware infrastructure;
  3. Provision and maintenance of the virtual infrastructure;
  4. Provision and maintenance in operational condition of the information system’s application hosting platform;
  5. Administration and operation of the health data information system;
  6. Outsourced backup of healthcare data.

Simplicity, efficiency and safety for healthcare professionals

Clever Cloud thus offers healthcare professionals the advantages of a PaaS (Platform as a Service) and DBaas (Database as a Service) solution. These include simplified deployment, the ability to obtain databases in just a few clicks, easy management (automatic scalability, one-click redeployment, monitoring included, etc.), maintenance in operational conditions and automatic updates, all with a very high level of security and digital sovereignty.

Quentin Adam, CEO of Clever Cloud, comments: “Obtaining HDS certification for all 6 activities is a continuation of our certification policy, launched 2 years ago now and encompassing ISO 9001, ISO 27001, HDS and SecNumCloud. We felt it was vital to be able to provide services that would simplify the use of the cloud for the healthcare sector, while ensuring a very high level of security and resilience, as well as hosting on a truly sovereign cloud. From now on, healthcare software publishers, healthcare establishments, public services, laboratories and research centers, insurance companies and mutual insurers can benefit from our services and all their advantages.”

Clever Cloud is therefore continuing to work on other standards and benchmarks, in particular SecNumCloud certification.

Sōzu 2.0 — turning a reverse proxy into a programmable edge

Sōzu is the reverse proxy that sits in front of every application running on Clever Cloud. After eighteen months of work — first the HTTP/2 multiplexer, built on our existing kawa pivot, then almost every other layer of the proxy, and finally a long run in production on the cleverapps.io load balancers — Sōzu 2.0 is out.

K3s vs K8s: What Are the Differences and Which One Should You Choose in 2026?

Kubernetes has become the standard for container orchestration. But depending on your infrastructure constraints (limited resources, edge computing, IoT, or large-scale enterprise clusters), the distribution you choose can radically change the operational experience. K3s and K8s (upstream Kubernetes) address different needs, even though both share the same CNCF-certified foundation.
